A man who accidentally shot himself in the Downtown Disney parking lot is in stable condition at the Orlando Regional Medical Center.
The Orange County Sheriff's department was called by the man's 12 year old son at 7:30pm on Saturday. Jim Solomons, sheriff's spokesman, reported that the man was either removing the magazine or clearing the chamber of his semiautomatic pistol when it accidentally discharged. He told his son to leave the vehicle so he could "safely clear his weapon."
While the weapon was in the man's waistband, the sheriff does not believe that the weapon had been carried in the Disney shopping/entertainment complex. According to reports, he and his son were planning on seeing a movie that evening.
The leg injury is considered non-life threatening. | |

| He should of never unloaded his weapon first of all in a public place. Very foolish on his part. He knows better. | |

| Listening during training is everything. Very important to listen and understand reasons of do's and don'ts. | |

| Anyone know why he was doing reloading his weapon at that point anyway? No specific reason? Glad he was not seriously injured and his son is alright. | |
