| Don't ya just love easy tutorials in GIMP? Well I have another easy text effect in GIMP. Don't worry, after this I won't do as many text effect tutorials, if you have a request I would love to hear it though 1: Create the text.. Create the text, and make sure the shadow as room! 2: Perspective.. Now go to (Filters --> Lights and Shadows --> Perspective). 3: Click OK.. You could also edit some things here, like opacity, if it clashes too much with your text. I would keep it as is, then after you do it, if you don't like it, hit undo and try again. What I like to do with perspective is to use it on a text I just outlined. Good luck! Until next time, Dude | |

| Another great guide by Dude! Perhaps you can make a quick and easy guide to downloading fonts and making them appear in your font selections on the GIMP toolbar - I have trouble with that. -Rich | |

| What do you normally save all of these as? I'm confused with the difference between jpeg, gif, etc. Also, how do you move text? Especially with this, I've noticed that I haven't centered my text directly in the center of the image I've made (this for example is 500x250 pixels) I always have issues with transperancy as well. When I made this new image, I clicked "Fill With" - "Transparency", but it always comes out not transparent. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! -Rich | |

| Rich - My next tut will be transparancy, and for the text, simply use the move tool, if you are having problems with that, go to the layers page and click the text. Dude | |

| Thanks. I've been trying to use gimp for about a month now and I'm still a bit clueless with what I am doing.
